The city of San Jose is not as famous for itself as it is for the trips it offers in its vicinity. For example, Orosi Valley or the Irazu Volcano in the region of Cartago are definitely worth visiting. Volcan Poas is located at the northern limits of the Central Highlands and is mainly accessible on the TUASA bus trips that depart daily at Avenida 2.
